sleep psychology

Sleep is an important part of psychological and physical wellbeing, but sleep difficulties aren't always as simple as “practise better sleep hygiene.”

Yasmin is passionate about all things sleep. She has been working in the field in both clinical and research roles for over a decade, is a Talks on Tuesdays sleep lecturer, and is on an advisory panel for the Sleep Health Foundation.

Yasmin provides psychological assessment and treatment for a range of sleep-related difficulties, with a particular interest in understanding the factors that may be affecting your sleep and developing strategies that work with your individual circumstances.

Sleep difficulties Yasmin works with include:

- Insomnia Disorder
- Shift Work Disorder
- Hypersomnia
- Sleep difficulties associated with chronic health conditions, including ME/CFS and migraine.
- Neurdoversity and sleep issues

Sleep Psychology approaches may include:

- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I)
- Circadian rhythm and sleep-wake assessment
- Strategies to optimise sleep timing and sleep pressure
- Psychological strategies for managing racing thoughts and nighttime arousal
- Supporting adjustment to shift work and disrupted schedules
- Working alongside medical and other health professionals where sleep difficulties have physical or medical contributors
